With the completion of an electric arc furnace mill in Dangjin, which started its operation on July 1, 2009, Dongbu Steel achieved its long-held goal of self-supplying raw materials for the production of steel, and what began as a supplier of surface treatment steel has successfully grown into a fully-integrated still mill capable of producing both hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel sheets.
